El genial autor, periodista y compositor Luis Rubistein nos cuenta una particular historia que bien podria ser el guión de un film noir al más puro estilo de Jules Dassin, con sus brutales antihéroes, o salidos de una pelicula de Werner Herzog con sus torturados y perdedores protagonistgas.

The great author, journalist and composer Luis Rubistein tells in this tango a particular story that could very well be the script of a film noir in the style of Jules Dassin, with its brutal antiheroes or out of a Werner Herzog's film  with its tortured and born-loser protagonists.

A veces el amar con exageración puede llevarnos al peor de los caminos y condenarnos a vivir por siempre con el remordimiento de lo hecho, para sufrir eternamente al no tener más a la persona que amamos y seguir viviendo solo para recordarla. El peor de los castigos.

Sometimes love with exaggeration can lead us to the most sinister path condemning us to live forever with guilt and remorse and perpetually suffering not having anymore the person we loved, continuing to live only to miss him/her. The worst of punishments.

Luis Rubistein (1908-1954)

Su familia provenía de Ekaterinoslav, en Ucrania. Sus padre zapatero y su madre maestra de escuela hebrea, decidieron emigrar ante el azote del antisemitismo, recrudecido en tiempos de la guerra ruso-japonesa, y llegaron a Buenos Aires a comienzos de 1906.

His family came from Ekaterinoslav, Ukraine. His father was a cobbler and his mother a teacher of a Hebrew school, they decided to emigrate to the scourge of anti-Semitism intensified in times of the Russo-Japanese War, and came to Buenos Aires in early 1906.

Nació en la humilde casa de familia del barrio de San Cristóbal, trozo del profundo sur de la capital argentina. En esa vivienda ejercía el padre su oficio de zapatero remendón y la familia se hacinaba en dos cuartos.

He was born in the humble family home in the neighborhood of San Cristobal, slice of the deep Argentina’s capital. In that house the father exercised his craft cobbler and the family poorly lived in only two rooms.

Rubistein nunca fue una letrista sutil, superponiendo a la fina melodía de su música versos verdaderamente brutales. Esa dicotomía en su obra sorprendida a todos y era parte e su atractivo.  Luis podía idear varios temas en un mismo día. Hubo épocas de su vida en que se convirtió en un verdadero fabricante de canciones, acumulando una obra indeterminable.

Rubinstein never was a subtle lyricist, overlapping to the fine tune of his music his truly brutal verses. This dichotomy in his work surprised most people and was part of its appeal. Luis could devise various subjects in a day. There were times in his life when he became a true “manufacturer” of songs, accumulating an indeterminable amount of work.

El siempre estuvo orgulloso de su condición de judío.. En 1942 Luis escribió la letra de “Yánkele (Mi Muchacho)”, intercalando algunos versos en ídisch y con música de su hermano Elías. Esta canción, fue compuesta especialmente para “Soy Judío”, una obra de Luis Pozzo Ardizzi que se propalaba por Radio Del Pueblo con enorme éxito.

He was always proud of his Jewishness.. In 1942 Luis wrote the lyrics to " Yánkele (My Boy)", interspersing some lines in Yiddish with music by his brother Elijah. This song was composed for "I'm Jewish", a work of Luis Pozzo Ardizzi that which was broadcaste by Radio Del Pueblo with enormous success.

English: My drama, Your Honor, is in the story That well can start by the end, I know that in the grotesque of my act It's not easy to look sentimental. Tango muy bien interpretado, respetando el dramatismo de la historia, con movimientos densos, pausados, casi con dolor. La exagerada volcada marca el momento el comienzo de la confesión del crimen. Los adornos de Giulia, van perfecto con el espíritu y la pesadumbre del mensaje. Los bailarines primaron esto a un baile mas tecnico y puntilloso.  Asi debe ser!

Tango very well performed, respecting all the drama of the story, with dense and slow movements, almost in pain. The exaggerated volcada matches the commencement of the confession to the crime. Giulia’s ornaments, go perfect with the spirit and grief of the message. The dancers prevailed that than having a more technical and punctilious dance. So it should be!

Es una adaptación de la obra de teatro Woyzeck del dramaturgo alemán Georg Büchner. Otra trama de celos enfermizos y posesivos que llevaran a un atormentado protagonista a matar a la persona que más ama.
